Piano lessons and the importance of relaxation

One of the key elements of a good piano technique is to
learn and disengage those muscles which are not directly involved in the act of
playing. As the fingers do not have enough mass to comfortable cope with the
resistance of the keys we need to direct all the weight of our arms to their
tips. For this reason we put a big
emphasis on developing our finger muscles so we can manage to amplify our
dynamic range while we keep all our system stress under control.
According to our studies, when using the Scaramuzza piano
technique, the fingers act as the fundamental and most frequently applied of
pianistic movement. Actually, it is used in 85% of the cases and it is by far
the best choice to perform legato melodic passages as well as crisp classical
scales.
