TEACHING KIDS HOW TO READ PIANO MUSIC PROPERLY.

Let's present this time a common topic but quite useful for all those piano beginner students. In particular, this article is aimed to help kids throughout their piano tuition.

It is usually hard for a beginner piano student to catch up on all the subjects and duties from any piano tuition. Even more, when we talk about sight-reading. Yes, we know, that tedious and not that interesting part of the piano or any other musical instrument. Some students might like it, however, as per our experience, most of the students fail and struggle when analysing the reading step. Notes, tempo, rhythm, silence... It is a step which should be trained since the first lesson ever, working on every single lesson. It is a hard process, but once we reach the essential point, we will find out how important is to read music properly and all the benefits of it.

For those reasons mentioned above, we published at WKMT Blog one of our recent articles. Thanks to Mark Dowling, a piano teacher for kids at WKMT, who wrote this helpful article. In this case, he goes through some history and details about the two clefs (treble and bass), as well as proposing an easy and interesting technique for children to fully understand the best way of reading music.

C'mon, do not hesitate and read the full article by clicking on the link aforementioned. Help your kid(s) to improve their sight reading with this great technique.
